ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Hi, I am Kevin Chan
In the quiet heart of Kuala Lumpur, a bustling city of Malaysia, where East met West, my journey began. I am Kevin Chan, 3rd-generation Malaysian-Chinese born into a typical Chinese family as an only child. My father, a Penangite Chinese was educated in English in La Salle School, and his professional life reflected this influence.
My mother, on the other hand, was a simple woman who grew up with in Chinese traditional and values. This unique blend of Eastern and Western influences shaped my upbringing and planted the seeds for my lifelong quest for understanding.
From an early age, I was surrounded by Chinese cultural and traditions yet every day I exposed to Western books rooted in science and philosophical nature.
This dual influence gave me a unique perspective on life, one that allowed me to appreciate the wisdom of the East while embracing the progressive ideas of the West.
My father’s Western education introduced me to a world of science, rationality, and innovation, while my mother’s Eastern practices grounded me in spirituality, tradition, and a deep sense of connection to my heritage.
在东西方交汇的马来西亚繁华城市吉隆坡安静的中心地带，我的旅程开始了。我是陈加文，第三代马来西亚华人，出生在一个典型的华人家庭，是独生子。我的父亲是槟城华人，在拉萨尔学校接受英语教育，他的职业生涯也反映了这种影响。
另一方面，我的母亲是一个在中国传统和价值观中长大的简单女人。这种东西方影响的独特融合塑造了我的成长经历，并为我一生追求理解埋下了种子。
我从小就被中国文化和传统所包围，但每天我都会接触到植根于科学和哲学本质的西方书籍。
这种双重影响让我对人生有了独特的看法，让我领略东方的智慧，同时拥抱西方的进步思想。
我父亲的西方教育将我带入了一个科学、理性和创新的世界，而我母亲的东方实践则让我扎根于灵性、传统以及与我的传统的深刻联系。
A Quiet Observer
As a child, my world was filled with books and curiosity. I attended national school and was educated in Bahasa Malaysia, and thus provided access Malay culture and perspectives.
From Chinese traditions and religious practices to English literature and Malay viewpoints, my upbringing was filled with a variety of influences.
Being the only child in a family of three has made me quiet most of the time. This has made me more observant, letting me take in the thoughts and actions of those around me, giving me a special ability to see things from different points of view.
The Awakening
A pivotal moment in my journey came when I was just 14 years old.
One night, I experienced a terrifying episode of sleep paralysis. Convinced it was a ghostly encounter, where the Chinese believe a ghost was sleeping on me, I forced myself to wake up and went straight to pray to the Goddess of Mercy, Guan Yin.
This harrowing experience ignited a relentless curiosity in me, driving me to explore the nature of sleep paralysis and the roles of gods and ghosts.
It was the beginning of my deep dive into the mysteries of the mind and spirit.
Exploring the Unknown
My quest led me to the world of Out Of Body Experience (OBE) or Astral Projection. Even though I wasn’t sure about it, I got into the practice, determined to get over my fear of ghosts and spirits.
Over a decade of practice, I mastered the ability to achieve out-of-body experiences at will.
This newfound skill opened doors to profound insights and a deeper understanding of the universe and my place within it.
Many Complex Beliefs
My spiritual journey did not stop there. I began to explore histories, philosophies and religions such as the early Greek, Western and Eastern Philosophers, the Great Civilizations, Human Migration, Natural Sciences, Quantum Physics, Christianity, Islam, Yoga, Athiesm, Thiesm and Buddhism, both from Western and Eastern perspectives.
All of these different areas of study led to the same conclusion: everything is connected and there are hidden secrets in the universe that most people are not able to see.
Balancing Act
Life experiences further enriched my understanding. Transitioning from an employee to an entrepreneur, I gained insights into both sides of the workforce dynamic.
Having married to a wonderful woman from a family of multiple siblings, I appreciated the complexities of different family structures.
My exposure to Chinese and Western cultures through literature, movies, and upbringing broadened my worldview.
Having friends from diverse backgrounds and working in various roles, from back-end restaurant positions to frontline roles in the air travel industry, from a back-end software programmer to the front-end role of sales and marketing executive, I experienced the multifaceted nature of human character and interaction.
The Birth of PathTreasure
All these experiences culminated in the creation of PathTreasure, a platform to share the treasures I have discovered on my journey.
PathTreasure is not just a collection of observations and insights; it is a reflection of my life—a blend of science, philosophy, human psychology, history, and various messages religions are trying to reach us.
It embodies my belief that enlightenment comes from understanding the world through multiple lenses and finding the core messages that unite them.
A Legacy of Wisdom
My journey is ongoing, and my mission is clear: to be a better version of myself each moment. Along the way, when are are like-minded souls who come across of path, I will share my insights with anyone seeking to improve their lives.
